What makes VeggieBenz conversions so much better than others’ is our 12 volt electric fuel heating system. You simply turn the ignition key on before starting and within 10 seconds [30 seconds in cold weather] the fuel is already hot! First we heat the fuel before it gets to the filter (through a pipe heater), helping to eliminate restrictions. Second we heat the fuel just before it gets injected into the engine (with heaters on the injectors). Many conversion systems do not have any fuel heaters and some have heaters that require the engine to get hot before they even start to heat the fuel. Starting the engine with cold oil is BAD for the engine. With colder oil, your Veggie Diesel will run very rough and often stall or won't stay running unless you warm the engine up by holding the accelerator pedal down to a high idle.

For these reasons, our heating system is a MUST.

We use a high quality fuel filtering system that is also a water separator. The filter unit has a see-thru dome so you can see excessive dirt or debris collecting.  We use metal hose fittings, NOT PLASTIC. The filter elements are available in different microns. [micron is the amount of filtration. The lower the micron number the cleaner the filter fuel will be.]  We use a 2 micron filter in our conversion. Changing the filter is very user friendly.  It is so easy a child could change it within 2 minutes with little or no mess, no mechanical experience needed!  If the fuel quality is very good you can go 15,000 miles between fuel filter changes! The average fuel filter change is approximate every 5,000 miles.  The cost of filter elements is approximately $7.00.

We also use a high quality Welbro booster fuel pump made for diesel/bio type fuels.

We wire in a switch so you can control the extra heat.  This is particularly important when you want to run ONLY Diesel.  Just flip the switch and the extra heating elements will turn off. An external fuse and quality bosch relay are also installed for a long-lasting, sufficient, professional job!!!
